Dentures in Borger, TX

Dentures replace multiple missing teeth with a removable appliance that's custom-made to your mouth. A well-fit denture lets you eat comfortably, speak clearly, and smile without thinking about it — the fit is what makes all the difference.

Complete vs. partial dentures

  • Complete dentures replace all the teeth in an arch, upper or lower. They rest on the gums and are held in place by suction and, when helpful, a denture adhesive.
  • Partial dentures fill in where some natural teeth are still in place. They use a metal or plastic framework that clasps onto the remaining teeth to stay secure.

How the fit is developed

Dr. Robertson takes precise measurements and impressions of your mouth, then works with the lab to shape the denture base and position the teeth so your bite feels natural and your face keeps its normal shape. Adjusting to new dentures usually takes a few weeks — your tongue and cheeks have to learn the new landscape — so follow-up visits during that period help fine-tune the fit.

If dentures feel loose

Patients with loose-fitting dentures often do well with implant-retained dentures. A few strategically placed implants — even mini implants — anchor the denture so it doesn't slip while you eat or talk. If that sounds like something that would improve your daily life, it's worth asking about at the consultation.
