Rotary Endodontics

Rotary Endodontics in Borger, TX

Rotary endodontics is a faster, more comfortable way to do root canal therapy. Instead of shaping the canal by hand with a series of manual files, Dr. Robertson uses flexible rotary files driven by an electric handpiece — they follow the natural curve of the canal and clean it out more efficiently.

Why a root canal might be needed

The pulp inside a tooth contains the nerve and blood supply. When it gets infected or inflamed — usually from deep decay, a cracked tooth, or repeated work on the same tooth — it causes pain that won't resolve on its own. Left alone, the infection spreads into the bone and often forces an extraction.

Signs you might need one

  • A toothache that gets worse with biting or pressure
  • Hot or cold sensitivity that lingers long after the drink is gone
  • Darkening of a single tooth
  • Swelling or tenderness in the gum near the tooth
  • A recurring pimple-like bump on the gum

What rotary technique changes

The rotary files are nickel-titanium — flexible enough to navigate curved canals that hand files can struggle with — and they move through the canal smoothly instead of in short chopping motions. That means less time in the chair, cleaner results, and a lower chance of an instrument separating inside the tooth.
