Soft Tissue Lasers

Soft Tissue Lasers in Borger, TX

A soft tissue laser lets Dr. Robertson work on gum tissue with a level of precision that's hard to match with a scalpel. The laser cuts and cauterizes at the same time, so bleeding is minimal, the area stays clean, and healing is faster than with traditional technique.

What we use the laser for

  • Removing diseased gum tissue (gingivectomy)
  • Crown lengthening to expose more tooth structure for a restoration
  • Frenectomy — releasing a tight lip or tongue attachment
  • Treating cold sores and canker sores to speed healing
  • Uncovering teeth that haven't erupted, often to help orthodontic progress
  • Reshaping the gumline for cosmetic reasons
  • Performing small tissue biopsies

What's different about the experience

Many laser procedures can be done without injections — most patients feel little more than a warm sensation. The laser is also much quieter than traditional instruments, which helps if dental anxiety is something you deal with. When anesthesia or sedation makes sense, we still offer it, but for a lot of soft tissue work it simply isn't needed.
