Panorex Imaging in Borger, TX
A Panorex is a panoramic X-ray that captures both dental arches, the jawbones, and the surrounding structures in a single image. Where a standard bitewing shows a few teeth at a time, a Panorex shows the whole mouth — useful when Dr. Robertson needs to look at relationships between teeth, roots, and the jaw.
What a Panorex shows
- Impacted wisdom teeth and other teeth that haven't erupted
- Position and development of teeth for orthodontic planning
- Bone changes from periodontal disease
- The temporomandibular joint and signs of TMJ disorder
- Cysts, tumors, and abscesses
- The bone volume needed for implant planning
- Extent of damage from facial or dental trauma
What to expect
The machine rotates around your head while you stand or sit still — nothing goes inside your mouth. It takes a few seconds and the image is available on the screen almost immediately, so Dr. Robertson can review it with you before you leave the room.
